My Africa when beyond

The first time I was far away from was when I left my home city and went to start a new job 600km away. The first week far away from my sweet mother was the most difficult.Harare is a very big city, but can you imagine that out of the hundreds of people swarming left , right and center, I didn't know even one person.Yes they were all strange faces flashing as if its a fast-forward movie which you dont know the actors.

Little did I know that years later, I will be in the diaspora on the same spot.......Eish why does life repeat itself?
This time i have learnt to cope with homesickness but I still crave my African dishes, talk about sadza, mazondo, matumbu, roasted peanuts, caterpillars, the African chicken and I have told myself on my first return visit like the prodigal son, I will ask my mother to just cook me that sadza and meat with lots of african vegetables like okra, choumolier and peanut butter. Sounds yummy?
Then did I tell you how I miss the african music? Talk of 2face, Timaya, Mabrr (Brenda Fassie) and the icon Oliver Tuku Mutukudzi.
I remember his live shows singing along , the excitement of going there. Africa my mother land I miss you
